Life is Hard...But the Beach is Beautiful

There are so many things we go through in life that break us...cancer, divorce, lost jobs, lost children, lost dreams, but we were all created by a loving God who wants to put these broken pieces back together. Since the very first deep sadness I ever felt when I was young, I discovered a deep peace that came from watching seagulls skim the shore, soaking in the glittering morning sun shining off the water, sifting my hands and toes in the sand, and sleeping with a touch of sunburn earned from the happiest of days. There was a stirring in me that understood that the goodness and glory found by the ocean had to mean that something, Someone...bigger and braver and greater than my heartache had to be there watching over me. This innate understanding eventually led me to discover the greatest love of my life, Jesus, and in time He helped fulfill this dream to create a special place for others to come and have their souls helped and healed too. This is the story behind the Salt and Light Villa. It is a place where we come to shake off the hard and remember that life is truly a gift, and truly good. It is a place to rest and renew our hearts and minds as well as our bodies and souls. We pray this refuge will be the same kind of place for you. We hope your time in our home away from home will be a great blessing and that you will leave feeling hopeful and whole. May peace and beauty define each and every one of your Seabrook Island days and may you fall in love with the One who made it all.
